At Switch, we believe words matter. Storytelling sits at the heart of what we do and we understand the power words have to spark curiosity, inspire creativity and make a lasting impact. That love of storytelling and curiosity about people is also what makes working with Christian a perfect partnership.
During the event, all nursery and primary classes will experience Christian’s unique way of bringing words to life through storytelling, poetry, rhythm and rap. Through his infectious energy, audience participation and performances, Christian will encourage children to see poetry and stories differently.
Investing in the communities we call home
Glasgow is a city we know, love and are proud to call home and investing in the communities we call home is an important commitment for Switch. For us, the Torrance Primary School event is an opportunity to put that commitment into action in a community with a very special connection to Switch
Our Chief Strategy Officer, Lynne Capie, is a former Torrance Primary School pupil and together with three fellow former pupils and childhood friends, Mairi Hamilton of SGS Group, Mark (Chuck) Cameron of Mark Cameron Yachts and Fraser Bryce of Dicksons of Inverness, they’re returning to the school to support and inspire a new generation of pupils.
Together, the four former pupils and their businesses are helping to make the event possible and ensure books are available for children to take away afterwards, extending the experience beyond the event itself and giving pupils the opportunity to continue enjoying Christian’s tongue-twisting rhymes at home.
For Lynne, bringing the partnership to the school where her own love and curiosity for words began makes the event especially meaningful:
